The brief
Introduction
We regularly carry out modifications and repairs to help keep our customers’ machinery in top working order. Recently, a customer needed their bale grab adapted to accommodate a larger hydraulic ram.
Our team removed the old bushes, fabricated new bushes to size, and fitted them securely. We also machined and modified the pins to ensure everything aligned correctly. The result was a stronger, more reliable attachment tailored to the customer’s needs – delivered quickly and with minimal downtime.

The Process
1. Initial Setup
The bale grab was brought into our workshop for inspection. We identified worn bushes and oversized pin holes as the main issues.
2. Removal & Replacement
The old bushes were removed, and new precision bushes were machined in-house. This ensured a tight fit and long-lasting durability.
3. Pin Modification
The attachment pins were modified and machined to suit the upgraded ram, guaranteeing smooth operation and alignment.
4. Final Assembly
With the bushes fitted and pins in place, the bale grab was reassembled, tested, and returned to the customer ready for use.
